Clothes Poems

For our first week of classes, no poem was brought in for students to read. Instead, we discussed the Hands on Stanzas program, and what students knew -- if anything -- about writing poetry. Students were then asked to write a poem about the clothes they were wearing that day.

Ms. Goode, 5^th grade

The Clothes I Wore for School

Rezwan C.

I wore a blue shirt and a striped shirt on

top of the blue shirt. I wore an army sweater on

top of the striped shirt.

I wore dark blue sweat pants for gym.

My sweat pants had pockets.

I wore a digital watch with

five buttons on it. The color was

black and silver.

I wore Nike shoes the

color was silver, gray, black, and yellow.

It had a check mark on it. (Like this √)

I wore white and gray socks.

That's the clothes I wore for

school.

Today Clothes

Today is school, time to get

ready! First I put on my super

soft pink shirt. Next I put on

my gray sweat pants, they are

comfortable. Next on goes my

white socks with a pink stripe.

Last I put on my cream

colored shoes with the neon

orange laces. Finally I put a

blue clip in my hair, and also

my mom's sunglasses, she said

I look like a rock star!

I hate my clothes that I am wearing

because it's fluffy, big, it has a zipper that

always bothers me, and it makes me look fat.

Plus my socks are short and they're tight so

they hurt my feet. The color of my clothes

is navy blue, I hate that color, the color

of my socks are white and they have

little flags.

It shines, sparkles, feels so soft.

The zippers make noise, buttons popped

off, very old but very cool.

In a couple of days it will

fall apart but now today it's

are bigger than the normal

size, but my red shirt

I was shocked when I saw it.

It is a very nice shirt.

What's On Me

I hate my shirt cause it doesn't

look good and even though it's uniform,

it doesn't go with anything I'm

wearing. To me it's scaring everything

in sight. The creepy thing is what

it looks like at night.

I am very pretty when I wear

them I act very greedy. When

I run, I run very speedy.

My jeans look very cool. Well at

least my pants rule. When they

get dirty I get very mad, then

I get sad.
